Noteworthy Mention of the Cole Neighborhood in Denver

Denver’s Cole Neighborhood was named after Carlos M. Cole, a former superintendent of Denver Public Schools. This urban neighborhood was established in 1874 and is situated to the northeast of downtown Denver. Due to its proximity to the growing RiNo neighborhood and the 38th and Blake station on the RTD A-line, the Cole neighborhood is becoming an increasingly more popular choice for people looking for affordable housing.

Homes in Cole

Much of this neighborhood consists of single-family housing units. Established in 1874, Cole’s historic character is punctuated with many little Victorian homes dating back to the turn of the 20th century. There are also many multifamily homes in the form of condos and townhomes throughout the neighborhood. Russell Square Park, situated in the northeast part of the neighborhood, adds tremendous charm to this popular urban neighborhood. The area is represented by a very active neighborhood association which sponsors regular events and meetings.

Within a ten minute walk to some great restaurants and bars in RiNo, the neighborhood has great access to the downtown Denver area. With the RTD A-line to Denver International Airport and Union Station close to the neighborhood (38th and Blake), it is a huge boon to the region. As Denver continues to develop, Cole will be seen as a great place to live given its proximity to RiNo, downtown Denver and I-70.
