Denver’s Wellshire Neighborhood is a short drive to the southeast of downtown Denver. It’s one of the last neighborhoods in Denver before crossing over into Cherry Hills Village.

Architecture and Homes of Wellshire

The Wellshire neighborhood is predominantly comprised of classic ranches built in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Many of these homes have been completely remodeled while others, especially on the north end, have been scraped and replaced with new builds. Many families specifically choose to live here due to the Slavens School, a Denver Public Schools K-8 school. After being closed for nearly 14 years, Slavens re-opened in 1996 because of a strong parent community. It is a high performing DPS school, and is consistently ranked in the top 2% of all district schools.

Recreation and Culture

Homeowners in Wellshire enjoy mature landscaping and large, property enhancing trees. This quiet neighborhood offers quick access to the High Line Canal and the Wellshire Golf Course, and is a short distance to Robert McWilliams Park, Harvard Gulch Trail and Observatory Park. Wellshire residents enjoy their suburb-like surroundings; yet appreciate the easy access to both University and Colorado Boulevards, and all the shops and restaurants found up and down the two corridors.
